A Friendly, Fast and Reliable 85' Dive Boat in Ventura

Malibu Divers enjoys chartering trips on the Spectre Dive boat and does so almost every month throughout the year. This boat can take a maximum of 40 divers (usually 32) and while popular it doesn't always sell out but, book your reservation early to ensure your spot(s).  One of a few boats out of Ventura Harbor which makes it closest to the northern Channel Islands such as Anacapa and Santa Cruz (and Santa Rosa, and San Miguel) and less travel time.  Peak season is June through November.

Charter Type: Mostly single day, Multi-day, Special (Free diving, Hunting, Lobster, Night, Tech, etc.)

Special amenities: hot tub and great bbq food, special requests available; sleep on board starting at about 6 pm the night before and avoid the early morning arrival or being late.  Please be respectful and quiet after 11 pm if arriving at night.  Bunks have pillows and blankets.  You have to have a parking permit to park overnight in the parking lot. The Spectre provides them, and they can be found on the galley table on the boat when you board.

Note: Trips include meals, snacks, refreshments and air fills. Don't forget to bring your cert . card, cylinders/tanks, weights and all of your scuba gear.  Maybe some Dramamine if that is an issue for you or an ounce of prevention that goes a long way.  Don't forget to bring cash for tipping your boat crew and your Malibu Diver Pro.

Reminders: Pack light in a mesh bag or even pre-assemble your gear and leave the big roller bag in the car or at home.  Don't forget to bring your gear, tank and weights.

  • From Los Angeles: Take the 101 freeway north to Ventura. Exit Victoria Avenue. Go left on Victoria about 1 mile to Olivas Park Drive. Turn right on Olivas and follow about 4 miles to Ventura Harbor. Olivas becomes Spinnaker Drive at the harbor. Follow “Harbor” directions below to locate boats. 
  • From Santa Barbara: From all points north, follow the 101 freeway to Ventura. Exit at Seaward Avenue then make a left on Harbor Blvd. Follow Harbor south for 2 miles then turn right on Spinnaker. Follow “Harbor” directions below to locate boats.
  • The Spectre is docked·at the north end of·Ventura Harbor Village. The Village is a complex of restaurants and shops located on Spinnaker Drive in Ventura Harbor.·Turn into the parking lot· just after the third "Ventura Harbor Village" parking lot entrance sign.·The Spectre·is located at dock D, slip 26. Go·down the ramp·near the Greek Restaurant.·
